Cruelty-free products are starting to fill shop shelves and, with so many available, you don't have to compromise on quality or budget - you can have it all! Here are 10 of our favourite cruelty-free beauty brands free of animal testing and endorsed by the Naturewatch Compassionate Shopping Guide. Know of any we've missed? BareFaced Beauty
Barefaced Beauty is a mineral make-up company based in England focusing on 100% naturally derived ingredients. Their range is free from chemicals, certified as suitable for vegans and made for sensitive skin. They use only ethically sourced materials and have clear policies in place to protect their workers.
You’ll find their face, eye and lip products in stores worldwide and can also order products from their website.
Faith in Nature
Faith in Nature started in 1974 with a vision of creating natural, affordable products that are both high quality and ethical. They use only the best natural, cruelty-free ingredients and are certified as suitable for vegans. Their packaging is 100% recyclable, and they are working to reduce the amount of new plastic in their supply chain by encouraging the return of empty 5L and 20L bottles for reuse.
Their range includes hair, body and skincare products and can be purchased online or on the high street.
Bellapierre Cosmetics
Award-winning makeup and skincare company Bellapierre has teams in Europe and the USA, all committed to providing products conforming to their four core values: purity, variety, simplicity and quality. Made from naturally derived ingredients, and with an expanding vegan range, Bellapierre foundations also include SPF, protecting you whatever the weather!
Good bubble
Even little ones can be AnimalKind with UK based company Good Bubble! Their selection of naturally derived, vegan and hypoallergenic products now includes an adorable range featuring characters from the stories of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. Offering fully recyclable packaging and now a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, Good Bubble products can be purchased online or in select stores.
Juice Beauty
USA based beauty company Juice Beauty began in 2005 when its founder decided to create a range of luxurious organic beauty products that performed better than other products and did not damage the environment. They ship their range of skincare and makeup products worldwide and offer skincare consultations either via live chat or video, as well as an auto-refill service.
Kester Black
Driven by sustainability and social justice, New Zealand based company Kester Black is certified as 100% carbon neutral, donates 2% of its revenue to charity and produces vegan make-up products that contain only high-quality ingredients. With a range of colours and shipping worldwide, everyone can enjoy wearing Kester Black products guilt-free.
Mancave
ManCave offers a range of hair, beard, skin and body products designed to make you feel good inside and out. They are all made from natural ingredients and their sensitive range is ideal for individuals who struggle with regular skincare products. All their packaging can be recycled and you can order directly from their website or from a range of different shops including Waitrose, Tesco and WholeFoods.
PHB Ethical Beauty
Family-run company PHB Ethical Beauty use only 100% natural ingredients in their products and are certified as both vegan and palm oil-free. All their skin, hair and body care products are handmade in the UK, but they ship internationally, so you can access them wherever you are. And, shopping with PHB doesn’t just benefit you and the environment – 20% of their net profits go to charities, including Farm Animal Rescue and Sense.
Natura
Natura is a Brazilian company founded in 1969 that sells a broad range of cosmetics and beauty products across the USA, Europe and South America. They aim to improve people’s relationships with their own bodies and with the environment by using plant-based ingredients harvested sustainably from Brazilian biodiversity and in partnership with local communities.
TanOrganic
TanOrganic is currently the only Eco-certified self-tanning brand in the world. Started in 2010, the award-winning company aims to provide products that give healthy, nourished skin using natural, organic ingredients. Products are certified as suitable for vegans. With a focus on sustainability and repairing our damage to the natural world, TanOrganic avoids using plastic packaging (their glass bottles and bamboo packaging are 100% recyclable/biodegradable) and are participating in an initiative with rePurpose where for every bottle sold they provide funding to remove 1lb of plastic from the ocean in Goa, India.
